Fuel leak in Virginia shuts down part of Colonial Pipeline

DANVILLE, Va. (AP) – The Colonial Pipeline says a diesel gasoline leak in Virginia has shut down a part of the nation’s largest gasoline pipeline, however it’s anticipated to restart Saturday.

Colonial spokesperson David Conti says the spill was found Tuesday. Whereas this specific line is shut down, the remainder of the system is working usually.

The pipeline provides roughly half the gasoline consumed on the East Coast.

The Georgia-based firm says crews are fixing gear that failed on the Witt booster station close to Danville.
