Divers recover Navy plane that crashed off Virginia coast

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (AP) — Navy divers have recovered an plane that crashed final month within the water off the Jap Shore close to the Virginia-Maryland line.

The E-2D Hawkeye was conducting routine flight operations within the neighborhood of Wallops Island, Virginia, when it went down round 7:30 p.m. on March 30.

The crash killed one of many three sailors on the aircraft, whereas the opposite two had been rescued by Maryland State Police, who discovered them injured and on high of the partly submerged wreck.

Divers reached the aircraft on Tuesday and reduce it into sections that had been lifted onto barges and brought from the realm.
