West Texas A&M chosen as host site for NJCAA Division I Football Championships from 2024-2027

CANYON, Texas (KFDA) – Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium at West Texas A&M has been chosen as the host site for the NJCAA D1 Football Championships.

NJCAA Senior Vice President for External Affairs & Development said that West Texas A&M was chosen because of its “incredible facility” and “top of the line features that are going to play an integral role in the championship experience.”

The stadium was built back in 2019 and has 8,500 seats with an estimated capacity of 12,000 when factoring in stadium room only occupancy.

As part of their announcement, the NJCAA committed to holding the 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 D1 Football Championships in Canyon. The championship for this coming season is set for December 18th.

Prior to Buffalo Stadium, the NJCAA hosted their championships in Little Rock, Arkansas at War Memorial Stadium.
