Texas driver’s trailer becomes engulfed in flames in Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Texas truck driver’s trailer was misplaced after it grew to become engulfed in flames on the interstate in Topeka.

The Kansas Freeway Patrol Crash Log signifies that simply after 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, emergency crews had been known as to the realm of mile marker 179 on eastbound I-470 in Topeka with stories of a car hearth.

When officers arrived, they mentioned they discovered a 2011 Peterbilt semi-truck pushed by Cantu Davila Gerardo, 64, of Pharr, Texas, had been headed east on the interstate when he seen smoke coming from the rear axle of his trailer.

Gerardo reported to officers that smoke appeared to have come from the driving force’s aspect of the trailer, so he pulled over to the shoulder and stopped.

By this time, officers mentioned the tires of the truck had already been engulfed in flames and the trailer had began to burn as properly. Gerardo then separated the truck from the trailer so it could not catch hearth as properly.

Fortunately, KHP reported that Gerardo escaped the incident with out harm. The trailer can be eliminated throughout the sunlight hours on Sunday.
