LAQUEY, Mo. (KY3) – A Laquey High School teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student has been arrested in Texas.

Authorities in the San Antonio area arrested Hailey Clifton-Carmack of Waynesville. She faces several sex crime charges.

In early December, a school resource officer reported a witness claimed saying the teacher and a 16-year-old student were in a relationship. Investigators say they found messages on Clifton-Carmack’s phone related to the relationship. In an interview, investigators say Clifton-Carmack denied the accusation.

School leaders say she hadn’t been at the school since December and didn’t expect her to return.
