Florida’s Shelton, Texas’ Stearns win tennis titles
CHAMPAIGN, Sick. — Ben Shelton rallied to beat San Diego’s August Holmgren and provides Florida back-to-back males’s singles nationwide championships, and Peyton Stearns of Texas took the ladies’s title with a straight-sets win over Stanford’s Connie Ma on Saturday on the Khan Outside Tennis Advanced.
Stearns, a sophomore and the No. 2 seed, avenged one in all solely two season losses when she beat Ma 6-3, 6-2.
