Georgia vs. Tennessee: Which team looks more complete going into Week 3?
USA TODAY’s Blake Toppmeyer and the Knoxville News Sentinel’s Adam Sparks break down where the Bulldogs and Vols are going into Week 3.
No road team has won in Neyland Stadium the last three-plus years — except for the one visiting on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Tennessee is 21-1 at home since the start of the 2022 season with the lone loss to Georgia football on Nov. 18, 2023.
The Bulldogs have geared up for the hostile environment.
“It’s going to be different when you go up there,” coach Kirby Smart said. “You’ve got to be prepared for it. You’ve got to have confidence in your plan. You’ve got to go execute as a unit. It’s not you against 100,000. It’s you against 11 on 11.”
Tennessee is putting up points in a big way so far with 45 against Syracuse and 72 against East Tennessee State, but the Bulldogs have allowed just 13 total against Marshall and Austin Peay.
“They’re physical, play a lot of press man,” Tennessee wide receiver Braylon Staley said. “They’re a talented defense. We’ve got to come in with the mindset we’re going to dominate as well.”
