The TSSAA football playoffs begin on Friday with first round games across the state.

In the Nashville area, the Tennessean game of the week is a 5A playoffs first round matchup between Columbia and Centennial. The Cougars have lost two of their last three games, though against difficult competition. The winner will face the Hillsboro-Shelbyville winner next week.

Among the other games on Friday, Ravenwood hosts Stewarts Creek and Riverdale hosts Green Hill. Both hosts played in emotional rivalry games last week and must shift into playoff mode this weekend. Nolensville travels to Tullahoma in what could be a tricky first round game for the visitors.
