Time change announced for Tennessee-Hofstra baseball series
No. 2 Tennessee (1-0) opened its 2025 baseball season at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Friday. Rankings reflect the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll.
The Vols were victorious, 15-0 in seven innings, in game No. 1 against Hofstra (0-1).
Saturday’s game No. 2 was slated for 4 p.m. EST. Due to inclement weather in the forecast, first pitch between the Vols and Pride on Saturday is now scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
First pitch for Sunday’s series finale was also changed. Game No. 3 was scheduled for noon EST and will now take place at 11 a.m. EST.

Friday marked the first meeting between Tennessee and Hofstra all time. The Vols also improved to 78-36-2 in season openers and 4-1 in home season openers under head coach Tony Vitello.
Vitello is 6-2 on opening day at Tennessee since 2018. The Vols have recorded four shutout wins on opening day under the eighth-year head coach.
