Tennessee woman arrested after slew of drugs found in U-Haul truck

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A woman is facing several drug charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a slew of drugs in Putnam County on Monday, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

PCSO said deputies stopped a U-Haul truck near Exit 290 in the county. Melinda Sharma, who has outstanding warrants in another county, was the driver.

Deputies smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the truck — upon searching it, 18 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 20 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately seven grams of a brown powder substance, approximately 12 doses of suspected LSD, drug paraphernalia and cash was seized.

Sharma is charged with the manufacture, sale and delivery of meth, simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond is set at $17,000 and will appear in court on July 22.
