Tennessee rolls to run-rule win over Alabama A&M
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – For the third consecutive game, Tennessee plated at least 12 runs, defeating Alabama A&M 20-2 in 7 innings on Tuesday evening.
With the win, Tennessee improves to 27-6 and 22-2 inside Lindsey Nelson Stadium this year.
The Vols struck for three runs in the first, four in the third, and three in the fourth before exploding for nine in the sixth. The 20 runs came on just 12 hits.
JJ Garcia earned the first win of his career in the first decision of his career, striking out two batters in an inning of work.
Seven pitchers toed the rubber for the Vols in the victory.
Offensively, Christian Moore, Camden Bates, Colby Backus and Ariel Antigua drove in three runs.
It’s the third time the Vols have plated 20 runs this season (21 vs. Albany, 24 vs. Illinois).
The Vols will host LSU for a three game series beginning this Friday inside Lindsey Nelson Stadium. First pitch on Friday is set for 7:30.
