Lady Vols basketball has its first ranked matchup in the second game of the season – and it’s on the road.

No. 12 Tennessee (1-0) faces No. 22 Florida State (1-0) in Tallahassee, Florida on Thursday (6 p.m. ET, ESPN2). The Lady Vols are coming off a 93-64 win over Florida A&M on Tuesday and the Seminoles opened the season with a 99-63 win over Charleston Southern on Monday.

Senior guard Jewel Spear and junior forward Karoline Striplin both scored 20 points in Tennessee’s first win of the season. Spear scored 16 of her 20 in the first half, going 5-for-9 from 3-point range.

Tennessee’s biggest challenge against FSU is containing sophomore guard Ta’Niya Latson, who’s the reigning National Freshman of the Year. Latson was out Monday with a day-to-day leg injury, but it would be surprising to see her sit out Thursday, too.
