Tanner Wiggins injured by foul ball in dugout in Tennessee baseball vs Kentucky
Tennessee baseball pitcher Tanner Wiggins received medical attention after he was struck by a foul ball into the Vols dugout, according to a UT spokesperson.
No further updates about Wiggins’ status were immediately available.
Wiggins was hit by the foul ball in the fifth inning of Tennessee’s against Kentucky on Saturday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Tennessee trailed 2-0 at the time. It won 8-2 in the opener Friday.
Wiggins has a 0.00 ERA in four appearances this season. He has allowed four walks and one hit in 2⅓ innings with four strikeouts.
The sophomore pitcher is in his first season at Tennessee after starting his career at Weatherford College in Texas. He set the Weatherford record with eight saves in 2024. He was 2-2 with a 1.40 ERA in 19 games. He struck out 32 in 25⅔ innings.
