FSU Hosts No. 20 Tennessee In Whiteout Match – Florida State University

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team (4-2) hosts No. 20 Tennessee this Sunday. 

The Seminoles are coming off back-to-back sweeps against UAB and Georgia State and are undefeated at home this season.

Freshman Laura Putz is the reigning ACC Freshman of the Week and is 3-0 at No. 6 singles. Putz earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles and a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles with Millie Bissett over UAB. 

The 37th-ranked Ellie Schoppe is 3-0 in singles and is ranked 45th in doubles with freshman Maelie Monfils. The duo won both doubles matches last Saturday over UAB and Georgia State.

Senior Vic Allen earned two singles wins last weekend and is the 47th-ranked singles player in the nation. Allen and sophomore Millie Bisset are 37th-ranked doubles pair in the nation. 

Senior Anna Arkadianou is 3-0 at No. 2 singles and is currently on a two-match win streak.  

The Volunteers are 6-2 on the season and face UCF this Friday. Tennessee is led by senior Sofia Cabezas. Cabezas is the 31st-ranked singles player in the ITA national rankings and has a 5-1 record at No. 1 singles. 

Sunday’s match begins at 12:00 p.m. at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.  Admission is free. Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.
