Dan ‘Big Cat’ Katz predicts another 10-win season for Tennessee in 2023: ‘I’m falling for Joe Milton again’
Dan Katz, better known as Barstool Sports personality Big Cat, joined Andy Staples of On3Sports Sunday to discuss the college football landscape for 2023, including a look at the Tennessee Volunteers.
Katz has ties to Tennessee’s fanbase through his 2020 livestreams of playing NCAA Football 14 during the Covid-19 pandemic. His alter ego in the game, “Coach Duggs,” was the coach of the Vols in the game’s dynasty mode. At times, his livestream topped 100,000 viewers with Katz leading the Vols to a (fictitious) National Championship.
The Vols struggled on the real playing field in 2020 but have since drastically turned things around. On Sunday, Katz told Staples that he thinks Tennessee won’t be going anywhere this season after an 11-win campaign last year.
He has the Vols winning 10+ games once again, noting that he is “falling for QB Joe Milton” again after his struggles at Michigan and early struggles with the Vols in Year 1 of Josh Heupel’s tenure.
