COLUMBIA, S.C. (WMBF) – The College of South Carolina can be going again to an outdated moniker early subsequent 12 months.

The varsity introduced Wednesday that can be simplifying its educational branding, which features a new “USC” spirit brand. The tree-and-gates brand will stay the official educational brand for the college.

“The actions introduced at the moment mirror our dedication to enhancing our iconic model,” college president Michael Amiridis mentioned in an announcement. “In my brief time again on the college, alumni and different stakeholders have instructed me how essential it’s to return the USC title again to the establishment. We’re initiating that change at the moment.”

As a part of the refresh, the college can be dropping its “UofSC” branding that it adopted in 2019. The varsity will now be often known as the “College of South Carolina, USC, South Carolina or Carolina” in advertising and editorial supplies.
