South Carolina Democratic Party invites Tim Walz to speak at state convention
Former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will speak at the South Carolina Democratic Party’s state convention later this month.
Walz ran alongside then-Vice President Kamala Harris on the Democratic presidential ticket in the 2024 election. He is the governor of Minnesota and is touring the country speaking at town halls in Republican House districts.
“Governor Tim Walz brings the kind of experience, heart, and vision that defines strong Democratic leadership,” Christale Spain, South Carolina Democratic Party chairperson, said in a statement about the May 31 visit. “We are honored to welcome him to South Carolina to help rally Democrats around our shared values as we take on the GOP in 2026.”
The South Carolina Democratic Party’s State Convention takes place at the state fairgrounds in Columbia. During the convention, the party will elect state officers, discuss proposed organizational policy changes, and hear from guest speakers.
