South Carolina, Dawn Staley in 5-star McKenna Woliczko’s final four schools
COLUMBIA — McKenna Woliczko, a five-star power forward in the class of 2026, revealed that South Carolina women’s basketball is one of her final four schools.
Woliczko posted June 12 on X, revealing that her other three final options are Ohio State, Southern California and Iowa.
She is the No. 6 recruit in her class according to ESPN’s HoopGurlz rankings. Woliczko is 6-foot-2 from San Jose, California, and goes to Archbishop Mitty High School.
According to On3, she has an official visit scheduled for later in June.
She is the No. 2 player from California in her recruiting class and the No. 2 power forward nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. As a sophomore in the 2023-24 season, she averaged a team-high 22.1 points to go along with 8.4 rebounds according to MaxPreps.
In January, Woliczko went down with a knee injury which turned out to be an ACL tear. She missed the remainder of her junior year.
In May, coach Dawn Staley hosted Saniyah Hall, the No. 1 ranked player for an official visit.
Oliviyah Edwards, a 6-foot-3 five-star forward, the No. 2 ranked player, is already somewhat familiar with Columbia, as she was on campus in January ahead of the Gamecocks’ game against LSU and was seen at practice the day before the win.
