South Carolina Celebrates Senior Day with Saturday Win over Kentucky

COLUMBIA – Noah Corridor threw eight shutout innings and seniors Brandt Belk and Andrew Eyster mixed to drive in 5 runs because the College of South Carolina baseball group shut out Kentucky, 7-0, to clinch a collection win on Senior Day Saturday afternoon (Could 14).

Corridor struck out eight in his eight innings of labor, permitting simply two hits with three walks on 105 pitches. Senior Cam Tringali pitched the ultimate body to protect the shutout.

Belk was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored whereas Josiah Sightler went 2-for-3 with two intentional walks. Evan Stone scored a pair of runs and Eyster drove in two.

Belk drove within the recreation’s first run with a sacrifice fly within the second. Jalen Vasquez made it 2-0 with a single to middle within the third. Within the fourth, Stone singled to steer off the body and trotted residence on Belk’s sixth residence run of the 12 months. The rating remained at 4-0 till the eighth when Eyster introduced in Stone and Belk with a single to left and Michael Braswell walked with the bases loaded.

POSTGAME NOTES

• Carolina honored seniors Brandt Belk, Parker Coyne, Andrew Eyster, John Gilreath and Cam Tringali together with senior supervisor Jamie Karl and senior bullpen catcher Dalton Bontempo earlier than Saturday’s recreation.

• Sightler has moved his batting common as much as .300 on the season. He was at .167 after The Citadel recreation on March 23.

• All 9 starters reached base at the least as soon as in Saturday’s recreation.

• Carolina has had double-digit hits in seven of its final eight video games.
