Former UCHS standout Gene Stallard inducted into South Carolina Hall of Fame – The Erwin Record

The South Carolina Basketball Coaches Affiliation just lately introduced its Corridor of Fame Class for 2022, which included Gene Stallard, an inductee with ties to Erwin.

Inductees for this yr’s Corridor of Fame Class included Steve Beasley of Easley and Southside Excessive Faculties; Van McCloud of Keenan Excessive College; Willie Thomas of Orangeburg-Wilkinson; Holly Hill, Bowman, Swansea, Decrease Richland, Southside and Lake Metropolis; Gene Stallard of Chapman Excessive College; and Cindy Mattos DeHart of Eastside Excessive College. Coach Gene Stallard can boast 25 years of teaching expertise. He coached three years at Lockhart Excessive College and 22 years at Chapman Excessive College. His groups amassed a document of 421-232 throughout his profession. His Chapman group gained the Higher State Championship and superior to the state championship recreation in 1990. Chapman superior to the Higher State Finals in 1991. 

The Lockhart Ladies group gained the Area title in 1968 and his boys group adopted up with a Area title in 1969. His Chapman groups have been area champions in 1973, 1982, 1987 and 1990, and have been area runner-up seven occasions (1972, 1975, 1981, 1984, 1989, 1991 and 1992) throughout that very same time span.
