Body recovered in Lynches River identified as missing 83-year-old fisherman
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The coroner has identified the missing fisherman in a boating death investigation that happened in Florence County.
South Carolina Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) said they were notified Wednesday after a man went fishing in the morning on Lynches River and didn’t return.
A search began from his last known location and officers recovered a body near a boat landing around 10 p.m. after finding the boat nearby, according to Florence County coroner Keith von Lutken.

The fisherman was identified as Thurston McCutcheon, 83, of Scranton. The body will be sent to MUSC to be autopsied.
