Sergio Vega Flips Commitment To Oklahoma State – FloWrestling
Fresh off winning Super 32 and Who’s Number One, class of 2025 recruit Sergio Vega took to Instagram to announce his commitment to Oklahoma State. Vega is currently ranked #1 in the country at 138 pounds and was formerly committed to wrestle at Cornell.
Vega has been on an incredible run this past year on his way to earning his #1 ranking. He bonused 6 out of his 7 matches at Super 32 and capped off his tournament with an 18-5 major decision win in the finals over #3 Dalton Perry. As mentioned above, Vega won at Won’s Number One in September with a 12-5 decision over then #2 Drew Gorman. Prior to that, Vega dominated his way to a Fargo title teching 5 of his 7 opponents.

Vega’s addition to the Oklahoma State Cowboys gives new head coach David Taylor a strong recruiting class coming in next year. Vega becomes the third #1 ranked wrestler joining the 2025 recruiting class for the Cowboys joining both Landon Robideau (#1 at 150) and LaDarion Lockett (#1 at 165). Those three wrestlers lead a strong class of 2025 group that should give Cowboy fans high expectations for the next five years in Stillwater.
