In recent weeks, the Oklahoma Sooners have picked up a ton of momentum on the recruiting trail, earning commitments on both sides of the ball. Most recently, it was Davon Mitchell who pledged his college career to the Oklahoma Sooners.

If there’s been one position group that’s been slow out of the gates, however, it’s the offensive line. Currently, in their 2024 recruiting class, the Sooners have only Isaiah Autry committed to Oklahoma. That could be changing as OU’s picked up several predictions in the last week for 2024 four-star (Rivals and ESPN) offensive lineman Eugene Brooks.

On3’s Gerry Hamilton and SoonerScoop’s Josh McCuistion issued predictions over the weekend favoring the Sooners. That was followed up by a 247Sports crystal ball from national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins on Tuesday evening.

According to On3, the Sooners are up against USC and Texas for the Chatsworth, Calif. native.

Brooks is an interior offensive line prospect that already boasts good size at 6-foot-4 and 325 pounds. He projects to guard at the collegiate level and will be an impact piece in the running game with his physicality.

Heading into the SEC, the Sooners need to have good size, strength, and agility on the inside of their offensive line to deal with the defensive fronts they’ll face starting in 2024. If they’re able to land Brooks, they’ve got a guy who will be able to hold up in the trenches in both the run and pass game.
