WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW) – Two people were taken to the hospital — one with serious injuries — after a crash that occurred during a police chase Monday night in Wichita, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 8:32 p.m. Monday at 1234 N. Meridian. The location was just north of 11th and Meridian in northwest Wichita.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2000 Ford Econoline van was fleeing from law enforcement officers at the intersection of 11th and Meridian when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled one time before coming to rest on its wheels.

A passenger in the van, Catherine Denise Henry, 52, of Owasso, Okla., suffered serious injuries in the crash. She was transported to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital for treatment. The patrol said Henry wasn’t wearing her seat belt.
