Multi-vehicle crash closes eastbound I-44 near Miami, Ok.
MIAMI, Ok. (KY3) – Traffic on eastbound I-44 is at a standstill near Miami, Oklahoma, due to a multi-vehicle crash.
According to the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, drivers can expect delays that could last several hours at that section of I-44/the Will Rogers Turnpike.
According to MoDOT officials the crash involves eight semi-trucks. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is requesting to close I-44 at the Missouri/Oklahoma state line.
Crews are working to clear the scene as quickly as possible. The Authority says troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol are diverting westbound I-44 traffic at this time before entering Oklahoma to allow first responders to reach the crash scene.
Westbound traffic may re-enter the turnpike from US-69 to eastbound SH-10 to westbound I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike.
Officials say poor visibility and blowing snow are impacting driving conditions in the area.
