Man with knife shot and killed Saturday in Sallisaw, Oklahoma

A person was shot and killed by a police officer Saturday in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, authorities report.

The title of the person killed has not been launched.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation obtained a request from the Sallisaw Police Division to analyze an officer-involved-shooting Saturday, OSBI studies.

About 5 a.m. police in Sallisaw responded to a report of a person strolling west within the eastbound lanes of Freeway 64.

A caller stated the person tried to leap in entrance of their car, based on a information launch from OSBI.

When an officer tried to speak to the person, the person drew a knife and threatened the officer with the weapon. The officer’s title was not launched.

The officer drew a weapon and commanded the person drop the knife. The officer fired the weapon and the person was hit. The he man was taken to a hospital the place he died.

The incident might be investigated by the FBI, OSBI reported.
