Man Arrested After Short Oklahoma City Police Chase, Driving Stolen Car
A man is in jail on Thursday morning following an overnight police chase in Oklahoma City.
Police say the pursuit began when officers spotted William Merrell in a stolen car near Northwest 44th Street and Penn.
Police say that around 11:20 Wednesday night, flock cameras alerted them to a stolen 1995 Honda Civic, and officers spotted it near Southwest 44th Street and Penn.
Police tried to pull the car over, but they say William Merrell drove off
Three minutes into the chase, Merrell stopped by a park, jumped out, and ran into nearby trees.
He attempted to get away but was arrested by officers.
Merrell is being held on traffic charges, eluding officers, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
