Council to vote on water rate increase for Oklahoma City residents

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Because the temperatures begin to rise throughout Oklahoma, many residents in Oklahoma Metropolis can be questioning if their water payments can be going up this 12 months.

On Tuesday, the Oklahoma Metropolis Council will resolve whether or not or to not approve a price enhance for Oklahoma Metropolis utility prospects.

The council is predicted to vote on a 4% enhance to water charges.

If the rise is permitted, Oklahoma Metropolis prospects might see their payments go up by about $3 a month.

Metropolis officers say the funds would go to switch growing older infrastructure, enhance system reliability, and construct reserves to assist fund particles pickup after storms.

The proposed price enhance would final till 2026, if permitted.

If the speed enhance is permitted, it should go into impact June 1.
