2 Arrested After Oklahoma City Man’s Death Ruled A Homicide

Two people have been arrested after an Oklahoma City man’s death was ruled as a homicide, according to police.

Oklahoma City Police said Djuana Hopkins, 59, and Kenneth Banks, 40, have been arrested on second-degree murder complaints in connection to the death of Gregory Lewis, 60.

On Oct. 20, 2022, Lewis was severely beaten during a domestic-related altercation at his residence near Southwest 59th Street and South Agnew Avenue, according to police.

Police said Lewis had left his residence and was transported to the hospital when he was found the next day.

Police said they discovered Lewis had a brain injury, but he was released from the hospital before he died on April 24, 2023.

On Aug. 11, 2023, the Medical Examiner ruled Lewis’ death as a homicide in relation to the injuries he sustained in the 2022 assault.
