Wrestling Downs Virginia In ACC Road Dual – University of North Carolina Athletics

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Bonus point victories from Spencer Moore and Sabino Portella paced the North Carolina wrestling team (10-7, 2-2 ACC) over Virginia, 18-16, Friday night in Atlantic Coast Conference action.

Moore (125) collected his fourth technical fall of the campaign, while Portella (184) earned his first collegiate major decision.

Jayden Scott (149) earned a sudden victory decision, with Sonny Santiago (157) and Max Shaw (197) rounding out the Tar Heel wins on the night.

With the win, Carolina has now won seven-straight duals against Virginia, including four consecutive in Charlottesville.

Up next, the Tar Heels return home to Carmichael Arena for the final time this regular season, welcoming Duke for Senior Night next Friday.
