Second person arrested after bomb threat made at Western North Carolina courthouse

MARION, N.C. (WBTV) – Deputies arrested a second person accused of making a false bomb threat at a western North Carolina courthouse.

Law enforcement was called out to the McDowell County Courthouse on Feb. 17 for reports of a bomb threat. Another threat had been called in just 10 days prior. Neither threat was found to be credible.

Deputies arrested 30-year-old Christopher Jaren Forney in connection with the Feb. 17 threat that day. A warrant was issued for 28-year-old David Russell Cash, who was arrested on Feb. 26.

Both men were charged with felony false bomb report regarding a public building.
