Sanogo scores 24, No. 25 UConn beats UNC-Wilmington 86-50

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Junior Adama Sanogo scored 24 factors to guide No. 25 UConn to an 86-50 victory over UNC-Wilmington on Friday night time.

Sophomore Jordan Hawkins returned from concussion protocol so as to add a career-high 20 factors for the unbeaten Huskies (4-0). Hawkins was 5 of 8 on 3-pointers. Freshman Alex Karaban completed with 12 factors.

The Seahawks (1-3) have been led by Shykeim Phillips and Jamarii Thomas, who every had 16 factors.

The Huskies led 40-28 on the half with 17 factors coming from Sanogo and 11 from Hawkins. After battling foul hassle and scoring a season-low 11 factors towards Buffalo, Sanogo was dominant inside, hitting 6 of 9 photographs within the half and eight for 12 total, with two misses approaching 3-pointers.

Hawkins returned to the lineup after lacking two video games with a concussion, which he suffered within the season opener towards Stonehill. The sophomore went 3 for 3 on 3-pointers within the opening half and scored six of the Huskies’ remaining 9 factors on a trey and a three-point play.

The second half was all UConn, which outscored the Seahawks 26-6 within the opening 10 minutes to take a commanding 32-point lead, 66-34.

BIG PICTURE:

UNC-Wilmington has struggled towards top-tier applications early within the season, however the schedule will get a bit simpler from right here.

UConn continues to roll alongside towards mid-major applications because it builds some momentum going into the Phil Knight Invitational subsequent week in Portland.
