North Carolina US Rep. Kathy Manning hospitalized, released after crash in Greensboro
North Carolina U.S. Rep. Kathy Manning and a staff member were hospitalized Thursday morning after a crash in Greensboro, according to Manning’s office.
Manning and the staff member, who wasn’t identified, had non-life-threatening-injuries and were released from the hospital, Manning spokeswoman Gia Scirrotto said in an email to WRAL News. The crash happneed between 9 and 9:30 a.m.
Manning, a Greensboro-area Democrat, was planning to host a roundtable discussion about gun violence at The Loft at Congdon Yards in High Point. The event was canceled.
Scirrotto told the Associated Press that the staff member driving was not at fault but didn’t have other details. Greensboro police didn’t immediately respond to an email.
Manning, who represents North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District, first took office in January 2021 and won reelection in 2022.
