North Carolina Home Depot worker, 83, dies weeks after being shoved during theft; police searching for suspect

An aged House Depot worker died on Thursday from accidents he sustained in October when a theft suspect shoved him whereas allegedly stealing three stress washers. 

The suspect was leaving the shop’s backyard space on the morning of Oct. 18 with a purchasing cart stuffed with stolen items when the worker approached him. 

Surveillance video launched by the Hillsborough Police Division seems to indicate the suspect shoving the aged worker to the bottom and hurrying out of the shop.

The sufferer died on Dec. 1 resulting from issues from accidents he sustained in the course of the incident. A medical expert dominated that his loss of life was a murder.

The Hillsborough Police Division is now looking for the suspect, described as a Black male about 6 ft tall who fled in a white Hyundai Sonata. A short lived North Carolina tag on the car was obscured.

Gary Rasor, the worker, celebrated his 83rd birthday whereas hospitalized for his accidents.

“We’re heartbroken by the lack of our affiliate Gary. He was a part of our workforce for greater than 9 years. He was an incredible good friend, husband, father and grandfather, all the time keen to assist anybody,” a spokesperson for House Depot advised Fox Information Digital in a press release. 

“Proper now, our prime concern is supporting his household and our associates throughout this tough time.” 

The aged employee approached the alleged shoplifted and the suspect shoved him to the bottom.

His spouse beforehand advised WNCN that her husband acknowledged the suspect. 

“He is aware of the man is a thief. He’s been there, he’s seen him within the retailer earlier than,” she advised the native information outlet. “And what he advised me was that generally the man will purchase one or two objects so he has a receipt, after which he’ll add extra stuff to his cart and flash the receipt.”
