ESPN’s College GameDay announced that it will be in Charlotte on Saturday, Sept. 2 for the Duke’s May Classic between the North Carolina football program and the South Carolina football program at Bank of America Stadium.

The matchup will be interesting from a quarterback standpoint. Spencer Rattler for South Carolina was a highly-touted prospect when he got to the Oklahoma football program. He eventually lost the starting job to Caleb Williams. It was an up-and-down season for Spencer Rattler in the 2022 season, and he hopes to have a more consistent season in 2023.

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the nation, and he is expected to go in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. It will be important for Drake Maye to get off to a good start and keep his stock high.

It will be an exciting atmosphere for the game with ESPN’s College GameDay being there. Usually the early part of the college football season can be filled with matchups that are not as exciting, but this is not one of them. It is a rivalry game. The Tar Heels lead the all-time series with a 35-20-4 record, but they will try to get revenge from losing the last matchup this time around.
