‘Violent fugitive’ wanted out of Mississippi arrested in Mt. Juliet after traffic stop
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A wanted “violent fugitive” was arrested after a traffic stop on Interstate 40 East on Sunday, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department.
MJPD said they initaited a traffic stop on the vehicle for having a suspended license plate. After further investigation, it was discovered that the driver, a 37-year-old Nashville man, had been wanted in Mississippi for almost eight years.
The outstanding warrant had been issued for the suspect on June 26, 2017.
“A check revealed he was wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections on a full extradition warrant for violating probation related to felony aggravated domestic assault,” MJPD said.
MJPD said the suspect was arrested after the discovery of the warrant.
