Three-star junior wide receiver Dillon Alfred announced on social media Tuesday that he would transfer from Gautier, Miss., to Class 6A Alabama champ Saraland.

The On3 recruiting rankings have already moved the 6-foot, 167-pound Alfred into the Alabama Class of 2025 and have him ranked as the No. 14 prospect in the state.

He is the fourth Saraland player ranked among On3′s top 16 juniors, joining fellow wide receiver and Alabama commit Ryan Williams (No. 1), Texas QB commit KJ Lacey (No. 7) and uncommitted DL Antonio Coleman. Williams is the reigning Mr. Football in the state.

Alfred caught 58 passes for 1,310 yards and 16 touchdowns for Gautier a year ago.

“I want to thank (the) Gautier coaching staff and everyone that had a part in helping me grow and playing the game that I love so much,” Alfred posted on Twitter. “Unfortunately, my time here has come to an end and next year I’ll be attending Saraland High.”

Alfred’s college offers include Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas A&M, Arkansas and South Carolina. He joins a Saraland team that went 14-1 a year ago, beat Mountain Brook for the 6A state title and scored 645 points.

The Spartans open the season with a high-profile game against national power Lipscomb Academy (Tenn.) on Aug. 25. Saraland coach Jeff Kelly confirmed that Alfred enrolled on Wednesday.
