NATCHEZ — Search is beneath method close to the Natchez Port for a person who fell from a barge into the Mississippi River.
Robert Bradford, director of Adams County Emergency Administration, stated the person, who’s Black and about 50 years outdated, fell into the river at about 4:30 a.m. this morning.
”Sadly, this seems like will probably be a restoration effort,” Bradford stated. “We’re ready for some state assets to reach to assist us.”
Deputies from the Adams County Sheriff’s Workplace, in addition to the Natchez Hearth Chief and Natchez Firefighters, Adams County Hearth Providers, Search and Rescue, Natchez Police, and personnel from the Coast Guard have been on the scene making an attempt to find the person close to L.E. Berry Street for the reason that name got here in throughout the early morning.
