Scott Padgett takes assistant coaching gig at Mississippi State

Former Kentucky Wildcats ahead Scott Padgett is reportedly becoming a member of the Mississippi State Bulldogs teaching workers as “assistant to the pinnacle coach,” according to Jeff Goodman.

Previous to taking the job in Starkville below new head coach Chris Jans, Padgett served as an assistant at Manhattan below Steve Masiello.

Padgett has bounced across the faculty teaching world since 2009. He served on John Calipari’s first workers at Kentucky within the 2009-2010 season however left after the season to take an assistant job at Manhattan (his first stint with the Jaspers), the place he spent two seasons.

In 2014, Padgett was promoted to move coach of Samford after serving as assistant coach for the earlier two seasons. Padgett held the pinnacle teaching job at Samford till 2020, when he was relieved of his duties following an general 84-115 report.

Padgett took an assistant job in 2020-21 at New Mexico after which returned to Manhattan final season for his second stint with this system.

Now, Padgett will take the job in Starkville and return to the SEC as a coach.
