Reeves proclaims June 12 Women Veterans Day in Mississippi
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – June 12 is Girls Veterans Day in Mississippi.
Governor Tate Reeves formally proclaimed the day this week.
“We salute and keep in mind the ladies who courageously served our state and nation, and we honor our feminine veterans and their households for his or her excellent service, sacrifice, and noteworthy dedication to our nation,” Reeves mentioned on-line.
The primary Girls Veterans Day was held on June 12, 2018, the day President Harry S. Truman signed an act enabling ladies to serve within the navy.
Reeves mentioned Mississippi presently serves over 20,000 feminine veterans.
