JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — One Black lawmaker and 9 white ones have been chosen to work on ultimate variations of payments that would develop the territory of a state-run police division inside Mississippi’s majority-Black capital metropolis. The Black lawmaker is Democratic Rep. Earle Banks of Jackson. He instructed The Related Press on Tuesday that his purpose is to have a safer metropolis.
