Omega Protein boat rescues six from capsized boat in Mississippi Sound
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) – A gaggle of boaters who had been stranded within the Mississippi Sound are grateful to be alive.
Round 2 p.m. Tuesday, a crew of fishermen with Omega Protein rescued six folks, together with two kids, from a small boat that had capsized.
Capt. Joel Deihl stated he bought a misery name from the Coast Guard asking for assist.
After his two fishing boats positioned the capsized vessel, they pulled two folks from the water and one other 4 from the overturned boat.
“That’s a horrible state of affairs to be in, and you’ll solely think about your self being in that state of affairs. I’m happy with my crew for a way they responded with the opposite vessels that had been with us. Figuring out that they’ll go residence and see their households is a giant elevate off our shoulders,” he stated.
Following the rescue, the Omega Crew transferred the stranded boaters over to the Coast Guard.
