- The first Buc-ee’s in Mississippi is set to open on June 9th in Pass Christian.
- Buc-ee’s recently held a job fair to fill approximately 200 positions at the new location.
- The travel center will feature 120 fueling stations, 24 EV charging stations, and a shop with popular Buc-ee’s items.
A new date has been set for the opening of the Buc-ee’s travel center in Pass Christian, the popular brand’s first location in Mississippi.
It has been a few years since the planning and site work began, and now construction is nearing completion — but don’t get your engines revved up just yet.
The Harrison County Buc-ee’s, which is going up at the Menge Avenue exit off Interstate 10, is still about two months away from opening, according to a company spokesperson.
June 9 is now the planned opening date, she said.
But as with most everything construction-related, especially on the Coast during hurricane season, that could change.
Buc-ee’s held a job fair last week, according to the Sun Herald, with around 1,500 to 2,000 applicants expected to apply for approximately 200 jobs at the travel center.
The 74,000-square-foot facility-to-be has been nearly five years in the making, said Bill Lavers, executive director of Harrison County Development Commission.
When it opens, it will be one of the largest travel centers in the Buc-ee’s chain.
The massive travel center will offer 120 fueling positions and 24 EV charging stations. In addition the shop will feature Buc-ee’s favorite items, including Texas barbeque, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries, according to an earlier story. In addition, the stores are known for their award-winning restrooms, cheap gas, quality products and excellent service.
