STARKVILLE — Mississippi State women’s basketball is looking to extend its winning streak and continue its climb up the NCAA Tournament projections on Sunday when it hosts Florida at Humphrey Coliseum.

MSU has won its last five contests, capped by a 76-57 home win against Georgia on Thursday. The victory marked the first time Mississippi State has won five straight SEC games since the 2019-2020 season, which was Vic Schaefer’s last as MSU’s coach.

The last time MSU faced Florida was when the winning streak started for the Bulldogs. Mississippi State picked up an 89-77 win in Gainesville behind guard Jerkaila Jordan and center Jessika Carter combining for 41 points and 28 rebounds.

The Bulldogs have won 10 of the last 11 meetings against the Gators.

Mississippi State enters Sunday in a three-way tie for second in the SEC behind undefeated No. 1 South Carolina. MSU, LSU and Tennessee share the same conference record. Mississippi State’s last loss came on Jan. 18 against UT. However, the Bulldogs upset the Tigers on Jan. 29.
