TUPELO — Mississippi State basketball is making the trip north to Cadence Bank Arena for a nonconference matchup Sunday against reigning NIT champion North Texas.

UNT is a top-100 KenPom team and sits just outside the top 100 in the NET. If North Texas moves up the NET, it could be a Quadrant 2 game for Mississippi State.
Coach Chris Jans’ Bulldogs are riding a two-game winning streak into Tupelo. MSU came off final exams with a resounding win against Tulane in Atlanta before a tight victory Wednesday against Murray State in Starkville.
Mississippi State is 4-1 away from Humphrey Coliseum this season, with wins against Arizona State, Northwestern, Washington State and Tulane. The lone defeat came at Georgia Tech in the ACC/SEC Challenge.
