6. Brandon (22-6) – The Bulldogs defeated Stone 6-1 Monday and Madison Central 6-3 Thursday. Senior Kandin Williams had a grand slam in Thursday’s victory.

7. Starkville Academy (26-5) – The Volunteers swept a three-game sequence towards Heritage Academy. Starkville Academy outscored the Patriots 24-3. 

8. Germantown (17-9) – The Mavericks upset Lewisburg within the first spherical of the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs. Senior Connor Ware pitched seven innings and allowed 4 hits with 10 strikeouts in Saturday’s 4-3 victory.
