Mississippi governor seeks 2nd term as qualifying opens
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has filed to run for a second four-year time period.
His submitting got here Tuesday on the primary day that candidates may submit qualifying papers for this yr’s election in Mississippi.
Candidates for statewide workplaces, state district workplaces, legislative seats and county workplaces have till Feb. 1 to qualify for the poll.
Social gathering primaries are Aug. 8, with runoffs Aug. 29.
The overall election Nov. 7, with runoffs Nov. 28.
Reeves has touted state efforts to restrict abortion rights, enhance workforce improvement, increase trainer salaries and lower the state’s revenue tax.
