COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – An Arkansas girl is thanking Covington County first responders for rescuing her from a automobile trapped in flash flood waters final week.

Alice Frisby, 79, was driving from Florida to her residence in Huttig, AR, on July 22 when her truck hydroplaned and ran off Hwy 84 right into a ditch.

Covington County Sheriff’s Division Sergeant Josh Summerlin waded by waist-deep water to get Frisby out of her truck and carry her to security.
