JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Michael Visitor will serve a 3rd time period representing Mississippi’s third District after defeating his Democratic challenger Tuesday night time.

The incumbent congressman ran towards Shuwaski Younger, a army veteran and JSU graduate who as soon as served as a White Home-appointee working for the Division of Homeland Safety.

Visitor confronted a tricky main towards Naval Reserve pilot Michael Cassidy, with fewer than 300 votes separating the 2 on main day at the start of June, forcing a runoff.

Nonetheless, Visitor would win that runoff handedly, securing almost 70 p.c of the vote.

Visitor was first elected in 2018 in Mississippi’s third Congressional District after serving as a district legal professional in Rankin and Madison counties.
