TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi authorities have charged a driver in a hit-and-run collision that killed a bicyclist.

A 58-year-old man was charged Saturday with leaving the scene of a deadly accident in Tupelo, the Northeast Mississippi Day by day Journal reported.

Police responded Friday night time to calls of a critically injured man who later died at a hospital. Witnesses stated they noticed an SUV strike the person as he both rode or pushed a motorbike. They stated the SUV then fled the scene.

A person figuring out himself as the driving force turned himself in about an hour later, Tupelo police Maj. Chuck McDougald stated. A decide ordered the suspect jailed and set bond at $100,000.
